Hello again…

It’s been another long while, I’ve been busy the last few weeks with some ideas that were sparked sometime in January. Like a lot of folks I was feeling the heaviness of life at the moment and wasn’t feeling the push to paint or create anything new. It just wasn’t happening so what I do is just doodle and sketch until something feels right. I’ll pulled out my markers and created a few simple designs. And I simply started adding some of my digital artwork along with them! I loved what I started creating again!

What I love about this type of creating is it encourages me to play with shapes and colors as well taking the time to step back and play with splashes of color. Technology is so fun in that way. Graphic design and editorial work has always been a love of mine along with art.

Thanks for stopping by!

Emerging

I’ve been a little Mia lately well a lot and for awhile. I think I needed to take some time just to absorb and clear out some unwanted negative thoughts. With so many changes across the board, I mean life now is pretty crazy to say the least. It’s always been pretty easy for me to ignore things and stay in my zone but not as much the last few months. And of course thar has an effect on your thinking process when it comes to art. But as always the time is needed.

The last few days I’ve been playing around with digital images I create from my paintings. I love to created shapes through watercolor and merge them into something new! Sharing a few images from time to time and I’m excited to see where this goes! Hoping to share at least once a week! Let’s see how this goes shall we!

New ideas

Hi there!

I’m always trying to cultivate a new way of watercolor, or rather my way of water coloring.  Using the natural aesthetics of watercolors and their unusual properties.  I never tire of the many outcomes and possibilities.  And I know some artist find and stick with a niche and that’s always been hard with me.  But when I feel something coming together I usually run with it and go bananas with a particular subject.  That’s usually flowers of course but in new ways.

One of my favorite things is the bleed.  Lol.  Love the way the colors blend together and sometimes the perfect colors look so beautiful together.  Introducing my new collection of basket weaved watercolors.  I’ve been enamored with lately,  along with a mixed of gently colorful foliage.  Along with patterns and lovely color mixed together I’m sure this idea is here to stay.

BotaniCal play…

Wanted to stop in and say hello! Missed a few days of watercolor practice but I’m back at it with some simple botanical work. It’s always been hard for me to find a niche with my painting because I love trying it all. Learning mediums is fun which some may find frustrating but I love knowing which watercolors fade and which ones bleed in funny ways.

The one thing I do love throughout all of my work is creating shapes. I’m the one who watches the trees as they sway or how the light creates the shadows that dance along the concrete. I can become mesmerized by how the sun sparkles on the ground through the trees. Love when those moments come across in my paintings.

Hope everyone is finding some joy in this summer. Until next time! Take care!

Something New is on the way!

Over the past year I have been slowly working on going back to my roots with watercolors and beautiful shapes. For some reason I always come back to just creating with simple lines and colors. it’s a daily practice of warming up playing around and basically trial an error until I create beautiful things I love that would look lovely on a gallery wall, hallway or bathroom.

As an artist you hope that one day the things you love and create will come together into something cohesive and beautiful. Something that says this is me, and what comes most from my heart. As the time goes by that slowly happens with daily practice and humility for the medium that we practice.

I cant wait to share all my little floral studies from the last few months. More information coming soon!

Take care!
