all is new and beautiful...

I wanted to share a few images of some things i’ve been working on over the last month. My inspiration was flowers as always but more then that working on one particular theme and reworking it as many times as I could. I love using different color ways, florals sketches and jumping back and forth between mediums. During this crazy time I wanted to focus on something that brought me joy everyday, made me think about good things and kept me inspired.

I’ve always been a jumper, a hobbyist, a crafter and those things i’m sure I will always be but for awhile I wanted to stop and stay in one lane, and boy is it refreshing!

Hopefully soon I will be release a small, well it started small but it keeps growing because once I love something I want to try it again in a different composition or color, so soon they will be available to make room for more. Sometime early June…Stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping in!

Faded beauty

During this time of uncertainty I feel like it’s normal to gravitate to things that feel comfortable and safe. For me that’s always been art.  Reading articles,  watching tutorials,  getting business advise.  Practice practice practice.  My art practice is slowly becoming more streamlined solely working on a few things,  2-3 instead of 7-8!  I love working on one thing in particular and digging deeper into what I’m trying to portray in a piece!

By slowly integrating a few things into my floral paintings I get to discover more of what I love.  Which is the simplicity of floral illustrations and watercolors to the magic of finding new color combinations.

Wanted to share a faded version of one of my florals.  If I ever make prints this might be one of them!

Florals and more FloraLs…

It’s been very quiet here. Lots of things going and not going on but it’s been truly a time of transformation, trying new things, getting in touch with things we’re passionate about and cooking, lots of cooking!

Lately I’ve been taking the time to really narrow down my artwork to a few things that I love, simple watercolors and acrylic florals. In the pursuit of simple but beautiful designs. It helps me stay focused instead of all over the place which I do like from time to time! I love a sort of chaos so reigning it’s in for awhile is quite and effort!

Throughout the month of April I will mainly be working on a set of watercolor florals and simple rainbow abstracts. Delving into muted tones in juxtaposition to lots of neons! I’m hoping I can stick with the plan!

New florals!

IMG_8133.jpeg

Hello hello… just stopping in to share one of my latest creations. I’m sure there’s a bit of an echo in here as I’ve taken way to much time off from my blog. Not getting too crafty these days just improving my drawing skills and painting a bit here in there. I have to remember this time in my journey as one where I’m doing a lot of learning new skills and trying to establish a clearer direction in which to go.

For now it’s lovely floral Illustrations and some fun things that come along with that. Soon I’ll share a few places you can fine my illustrations as stamps and some truly lovely crafts designed using them. Hopefully very soon. Take care!

A little fall craft…

I'm hoping I can hop back on the wagon and get some things going here on the blog! I thought I’d add a few post from my older blog. I can’t believe I used to do so many craft years ago, I would really love to get back to that! Instagram is my bestie and I get some quick shots, a dash of editing and I'm done. So it’s slowly taken the place of my longer post!

It doesn't replace being able to share more though. More photos, more ideas and inspiration, and more updates! For instance this little mini canvas I created. When you grab a few things at Michaels during a good sale and just have to make something!

Last year I made a few art canvases all painted and layered up and I wanted to add a few this year. Their so simple and easy and I end up sitting them all together on a shelf in my living room.

I always pick out colors and try to make them unique in some way. Here I chose blush tones, gold and a lovely violet blue. I gathered all things in those colors including some copper glitter!

I think I'll make a little series of them and try my best to get around and share!
